The Dapper Dans of Harmony, directed by Chuck May, are the Montclair, N.J., chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society (BHS). We are an active member of the BHS Mid-Atlantic District and put on many shows around the northern New Jersey area. We sing in the four-part a capella Barbershop style, both traditional songs and music arranged in the Barbershop style. We're dedicated to the fun, fellowship, entertainment and advancement of Barbershopping. This picture was taken at the 2008 BHS Mid-Atlantic District Northern Division Competition. |
Dapper Dan quartets made Valentine's Day a bit more special for some lucky area residents.

Dans entertained students and faculty at Caldwell Middle School. Next year, be sure to consider four-part harmony for your special Valentine.
We hope you were able to join us at our last performances:
Franciscan Oaks, Denville -- January 26, 2010
and
"Way Down South -- On Bloomfield Avenue"
Sunday, November 22, 3 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church, 326 Bloomfield Avenue, Caldwell. The repertoire will include Barbershop arrangements of selections with a Southern accent -- such as the Stephen Foster favorite "Old Folks at Home (Way Down Upon the Swannee River)" and "Shenandoah."
Headlining the quartets performing was "Hudson Chronicles," a relatively new group made up of musicians prominent in Barbershop (including Dapper Dan Mark Paul) who try hard to make you believe they're funny. In its inaugural year, it placed 5th in the Mid-Atlantic District competition and first in division. Other quartets include "Joint Effort," "Four Measures," "Yo Just Yo," and "Thrilled and Delighted." We also had an Afterglow with singing, food and drink.
